Take Up Space
Follow us @seekandshinetogether
Seek & Shine in collaboration with Devasol Yoga would like to invite you to Take Up Space! A professional development retreat to network, connect and grow.

Every woman has experienced ups and downs in her career regardless of her profession and can testify to the challenges that are unique to us. Much of what determines our success is different than our male counterparts…not better or worse, just simply different ; ) Navigating the ever-changing politics of workplace, maneuvering through the known and unknown pitfalls, reading people and situations and most of all, creating the persona to position ourselves for success leaves very little room to be our authentic selves.

Let's come together in community and obtain tools of empowerment to use your voice and Take Up Space. Throughout the retreat you will have the opportunity to connect and network with other women and enjoy food, and refreshments on a beautiful rooftop setting in downtown Long Beach, California. We will have vendors, specifically selected with you in mind that will continue to provide support beyond the retreat. We will close out the day with empowerment through yoga and sound healing that will focus on slow movements, meditation and breathing.

Your participation will support the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights (CHIRLA). We will have community advocate Berenice Sandoval inform participants how we can support one another and recite her powerful poem!

We are excited to meet everyone with an open mind and open heart.

Empowerment through Yoga and
Sound Healing

Join us in a restful, and restorative slow deep stretch followed by a blissful sound healing session. During this practice we will be utilizing the power of the breath, along with visualization exercises, mudras, mantras, and gentle movement to welcome in a sense of internal peace that will leave us feeling rejuvenated and restored. No prior yoga experience is necessary as this offering is suited to all levels. However, please inform us of any physical or emotional limitations you may be experiencing. After our physical practice, guests will be invited to settle in for a restful sound healing where we will call upon divine light to promote empowerment, health, wellness, and inner bliss.

Please bring a mat, blanket, block, bolster, pillow, or anything else you might need to lend to your comfort. We hope to be able to provide a lovely yoga experience, leaving you feeling refreshed and empowered to Take Up Space in the world.

Berenice
Community advocate and independent seeker of truth
Meet Berenice, a passionate advocate whose journey began with raising awareness about endometriosis and expanded into advocating for mental health conditions. Her work then evolved to supporting teen moms through the non-profit organization Generation Her before shifting focus to advocate for Black and Brown communities. Today, Berenice is committed to raising awareness about rights and empowering people to move beyond the passive "digital liberal" stance to actively engage in their communities and create tangible change.

With over a decade of experience in editing and storytelling, Berenice has worked with major companies like YouTube, Space in LA, and Netflix, using her platform to create impactful content that awakens minds and inspires action. Her advocacy work is driven by her own life experiences—Daugther of immigrant parents, growing up in one of the most dangerous areas in Los Angeles and becoming pregnant at a young age. She has defied the odds, overcome numerous obstacles, and developed a unique perspective on the world, which fuels her dedication to helping others rise above their circumstances.

For more than ten years, Berenice has been decolonizing her mind and uncovering truths that have been hidden. She believes that true empowerment comes through education, and by lifting up the voices of our communities, we can begin to dismantle the false narratives that have held us back. Berenice advocates for unity between Black and Brown communities because she understands that liberation for one is liberation for all.

In addition to her advocacy, Berenice is an Indigenous healer with deep experience in spiritual healing and connection to the other side. Her náhual, t'zi; truth, justice, and order-guides her work, and through her journey, she has healed from depression and anxiety. She is now dedicated to helping others find their purpose and live in alignment with their true selves.

Berenice’s mission is clear: to help others believe in their own worth, empower them to make a difference, and show them how helping others can lead to personal healing and fulfillment. She’s excited to share her story and insights at the retreat, inspiring others to take up space, find their voice, and transform their communities.

Tammy Robertson
Grief Relief Coach
I help women navigate loss and trauma, drawing on my personal journey of overcoming immense grief after the death of my son. Through that experience, I realized our society lacks the tools for meaningful conversations about loss and that true healing requires a holistic approach—honoring the mind, body, and spirit.

My coaching goes beyond simply “moving on.” I guide women to embrace their grief, rediscover their inner strength, and reclaim a sense of agency that is often lost after significant trauma. My approach, the “wheel of wellness,” helps you rebuild mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and physically so you can emerge from the ashes of loss and find joy and purpose once more.

I am excited to meet you at the retreat.
