Critical Analysis of common Pitfalls in Cloud Strategy
The cybersecurity market is fundamentally flawed. Despite massive investments in cybersecurity infrastructure, including cloud security solutions, organizations continue to face unprecedented threats. This vulnerability is exacerbated by outdated corporate strategies, ineffective government initiatives, and an often misguided approach to cloud adoption and management. This talk explores the root causes behind persistent failures in cybersecurity practices, emphasizing the critical importance of robust cloud security frameworks and secure cloud architecture.

Attendees will gain insights into how misaligned incentives, poor regulatory frameworks, and reactive rather than proactive security strategies have significantly undermined the potential benefits of cloud computing, leaving businesses exposed to increasingly sophisticated cyber threats. The session will critically analyze common pitfalls in cloud strategy, including issues with data sovereignty, shared responsibility misunderstandings, and insecure cloud integrations.

From corporate complacency to inadequately designed government policies, this session will expose systemic issues and offer a comprehensive analysis of how these factors contribute to cybersecurity failures. Participants will leave with a deeper understanding of the challenges surrounding cloud security, insights into why current practices are unsustainable, and strategic guidance on building a more resilient cybersecurity future, both in the cloud and beyond.

3:50 PM
4 different Breakout Sessions to join - you can chose/attend two of them
Breakout Session No. 1: Peter van Eijk, Cloud and Zero Trust Instructor / Board Member CSA Dutch Chapter

How is Zero Trust Working to Improve your Cloud Security?
Security in the cloud is a confusing and complicated topic for many organizations. The dynamic nature of the cloud makes existing security practices hard to adapt.

At the same time, cloud offers new opportunities for securing, but the whole process seems overwhelming. How is a zero trust access model useful as an approach to streamline cloud security?

We'll explore questions, experiences and examples. Be prepared for some table top exercises as well.
Breakout Session No. 2: Gion Manetsch, Enterprise Security Architect at PostFinance

(details will follow)
Breakout Session No. 3: Stephan Gautschi, Head of Cyber Security at Axpo Systems AG

SASE (Secure Access Service Edge) Roundtable Discussion

Introduction round, status, market and technology trends
  • Current status of participants:
    o Who has/wants SASE?
