Welcome drinks on entry & a 3 Course meal to follow...
An interactive panel discussion...
Spoken word poetry by Tayeeba from The Ukhti's Amanah...
Inspirational keynote from NHT London founder Ameenah Shaw...
A charity auction to raise money for Creative Change...
Stalls showcasing Female run businesses...
Best dressed competition...
AND THE FINALE a modest fashion & creative hair show.

By sharing the unique hair and beauty experiences of black Muslim women, we want to empower black Muslim women to lead in breaking down the walls of uncomfortable discourse, that come with teaching and learning cultural competence. We also want to celebrate the diversity of beauty within the Muslim community, with emphasis being on Black representation.

So this space has been created, for non-black muslim women to sit with us, hear us, resonate with us and share their own experiences too.

This year the panel discussion will be interactive, honest and vulnerable - Just like last year, there will be no surface level conversations. We will explore questions like:

Why do many Black and mixed race Muslim women fear that they will be rejected for their hair type by men from other races or cultures after marriage?

and

Why is Bilal Ibn Raba (RA) always used to silence Black muslims from talking about racism and unconscious bias in the muslim community?

The modest fashion show is the finale of the evening, show casing a diverse set of women, who will be wearing Muslim fashion brands followed by a Creative hair show which will showcase hair designs inspired by the elements of water, fire, air and earth.

And this year £10 from every ticket sold will go to a much loved charity organization called "Creative Change" - scroll down for more details.

This year we will be very strict on the NO PHOTOS - NO VIDEOS rule to protect the aura of our sisters in Islam. Anyone caught filming other attendees by our security will be asked to leave.
Who are we supporting this year?
In 2011, Creative Change produced a play called '2facebook', based upon a real-life story of a young girl from South London who sadly took her life due to cyber bullying. So many disadvantaged young people from the BAME and Muslim communities had never performed before. Yet in just 5 days they did everything themselves! The play not only sold out, but also brought awareness to a serious issue, whilst raising money for those in need.

Following on from that, they started running more community-based workshops where they taught drama to young people during the school holidays. Creative Change are at the forefront of offering the these services to the BAME and Muslim communities.

Their services include:

Educational worshops
Interactive performances
Creative classes
Events and festivals
training and Job opportunities

Help to support them this year! £10 from each ticket will be donated to help them provide these services for our children.
 Join us on August 16
We look forward to hosting you!
