About Fussball
Through four artistic approaches by Annique Delphine, Carlo Bellmann, Julius Bauer and Tom Stechert, the exhibition examines football beyond its status as a sport, considering it instead as a cultural visual system and a space of social resonance. The works approach the subject from diverse perspectives and through a variety of materials, yet they share a common interest in the symbols, emotions and mechanisms that extend far beyond the field. Together, these perspectives offer a layered understanding of football as a phenomenon situated between memory and performance, consumption and community, entertainment and political reality. The exhibition presents football as a site upon which social conditions and collective longings are projected.
