Sol June Horsemanship presents The Elements of Horsemanship 1
Join Britt Lally on January 03
Join lifelong horsewoman Britt Lally for a transformative day exploring the foundation of all great horsemanship. The Elements of Horsemanship is a unique groundwork-only clinic designed to deepen the connection between horse and human.
This clinic will be a prerequisite of all Sol June Ridden Clinics.

The day begins with stillness and conversation. At 8:00 AM, we’ll gather to sit, breathe, and discuss how a regulated nervous system shapes every interaction we have with our horses. You’ll gain a simple understanding of the sympathetic and parasympathetic systems, and how they influence energy, communication, and safety in our work. A short guided meditation will follow to help you ground and arrive fully into the day.

From there, we’ll explore the principles that make horsemanship both an art and a discipline. We'll touch on attunement, healthy movement, boundaries, and consistency. You’ll learn why posture and energy matter, how proprioception affects timing and feel, and what it means to lead with clarity and softness.

At 10:00 AM, we’ll step into movement and body awareness exercises to practice proprioception without horses, refining the balance and coordination that great handlers share. After a one-hour lunch break from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, we’ll reconvene in the arena where each participant will have the opportunity to bring their horse into the shared space and begin applying the morning’s principles.

From 1:00 PM onward, each of the six participants will receive a 45-minute individual session with Britt. These one-on-one sessions allow for personalized guidance, observation, and hands-on practice tailored to you and your horse’s unique dynamic. Everyone is encouraged to stay through each of the individual sessions. The day concludes around 4:45 PM with an open Q&A.

This clinic is intentionally intimate, limited to six horse/human participants to allow for depth, connection, and genuine learning.
Twenty auditor slots available.

"You won’t find better than Britt!! She has a gift unlike anything I have ever seen and I’ve been riding for 25+ years. No matter what you’re looking for, I promise… she can help you and your horse!!
She hadnt worked with mules until recently.. and if you have a mule you know they are different, she took my mule and turned her into a different animal in just a few training/riding sessions!

You will not regret bringing Britt into you and your horses life!"

"Britt is the true definition of a horsewoman- she is the horse whisperer. She has taught me how to be gentle with a steady hand and genuinely work on having connection with the horse along with the importance of groundwork. She is absolutely phenomenal and truly has a gift with horses. I trust her with my life. If you're looking for a trainer for you or your horses, Britt is your girl!"
Nichole Hollingsworth
"Britt took on my challenging and anxious horse who hadn't been ridden in 5 years and was pushy and sometimes explosive, and has turned him into a soft and confident partner. She quickly noticed postural issues that both indicated anxiety and could cause pain and worked to teach Tobias how to be emotionally regulated and move his body more comfortably. He needed a full restart and to unlearn several bad habits while learning new habits. She has done this while never resorting to pain or undue force while also teaching him healthy and respectful boundaries which has worked wonders for his anxiety and confidence. She has taught me how to work with him both on the ground and under saddle to help support his body and mind better.  Whether putting the foundation on a young horse or dealing with a horse with issues, I would trust her 100%."
