An Experiential Self-Development Programme for Leaders
High self-awareness is critical to effectively working with different levels of organisational complexity. Latest research shows that self-awareness starts with our capacity to sense and understand body sensations in the here and now. Tuning into the body supports us in becoming sensitive and flexible with tolerance for ambiguity in the environment. It allows us to pay attention to the ‘textbook’ of our body that gives access to entirely new wisdom and language. It makes it possible to use our whole self to bring about the changes we want in life and at work in alignment with our intentions.

What is somatic practice?
Somatic practice refers to an approach to learning and personal development that involves working through the body. For leaders, somatic practices are essential for several reasons:
Emotional regulation: Somatic practices can also help improve emotional intelligence, which can help leaders to stay calm and centred in challenging situations.
Presence and connection: Somatic practices can help leaders develop greater awareness, improving their ability to manage relationships.
Creativity and innovation: Somatic practices also enhance creativity and innovation by helping individuals to access new perspectives and insights that may not be available through purely analytical thinking.
Stress reduction: Somatic practices can help reduce stress and anxiety, which can be especially important for leaders and managers who face high levels of pressure and responsibility.

Incorporating somatic practices into one's leadership, management or work practice can help improve physical, emotional, and cognitive well-being and support the development of more effective and compassionate leadership skills.

Our programme
A Somatic Approach to Effectiveness uses the three centres of somatic intelligence, the
Head, Heart and Gut to create grounding and alignment. Our work together will focus on connecting, activating, and balancing these three centres through movement, body stances, managing attention and intention and conscious breathing techniques. Sessions will focus on different somatic intelligence centres as we consider how to embody a Self that can stay intentional in the moment and manage aspects of ourselves that might hinder our intended behaviour. A Somatic Approach to Effectiveness will help you release your full leadership and practitioner potential.

The programme comprises 8 weekly online sessions of 2,5 hours each starting at 9:30 am (UK
time) and 10.30 am (SA time).

What will you get out of it?
– Your impact and presence will be amplified.
– You will be able to stay grounded under pressure.
– You will have a heightened connection to your somatic centres of intelligence.
– You will enhance your capacities to remain intentional in the here and now in service of your teams.

Past Participant Feedback

"I liked the grounding at the beginning of each session, and I liked that there was a lot of practice throughout … You (Guillermo) have a calm, centred presence that held that learning space well and you created a logical and thoughtful programme. I really enjoyed the combination and variety of people on the course.”
Senior Executive working in HealthCare Sector, UK

“I really valued the experiential component of the programme; it allowed me to see how I am (or not) reading my body and what my ‘hidden commitments’ are and whether I am consciously ‘leaning into the resistance”.
Health Care Practitioner, UK

I feel this is a very powerful developmental programme. I could see it being used in team building and as a means of deepening the use of self … I really appreciated the structure and process; starting with the gut, intuition, and lower self helped me integrate my learning.”
Coach, OD Practitioner
