About the speaker
Rob Norman is a 20+ year fashion industry veteran. He's currently the founder and creative director of the streetwear brand Planet Brooklyn Academy. During his acclaimed time in fashion he's designed for companies such as Walmart, Khols, Asics, Reebok, Nautica and the Brooklyn Nets to name a mere few.
Rob is also a professor at the Fashion Institute of Technology. Teaching in the Fashion/Business/Merchandising department for the past 12 years, specializing in Product Development for Fashion. He's taught in China and Italy on behalf of the school for the past few years. In 2021 FIT asked him to write a course based on his popular Youtube series "Making the brand" where he talks about the various aspect of starting a clothing line. The course, "The business of Building a Fashion brand" launched in February of 2023 to a sold out enrollment. A total of 90 students signed up for the course in the first hour with a waitlist of even more.
