The Browns (5-4), after they announced that they would be moving on from receiver Odell Beckham Jr., thumped the Cincinnati Bengals, 41-16, Sunday in a key AFC North battle. Cleveland is currently the No. 9 seed in the AFC, two spots back of the team they will be facing Sunday.

The Patriots (5-4) are steadily improving and fresh off of a 24-6 victory against the Carolina Panthers in which they forced quarterback Sam Darnold into three interceptions. One of those was returned 88 yards for a touchdown, by cornerback J.C. Jackson. New England has found success with its rushing offense, running for at least 142 yards in each of the last three games, all New England victories.

What to Know

After two games on the road, the New England Patriots are heading back home. They will take on the Cleveland Browns at 1 p.m. ET Sunday at Gillette Stadium. These two teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous games.

While not quite a landslide, the matchup between the Patriots and the Carolina Panthers last week was still a pretty decisive one as New England wrapped it up with a 24-6 victory on the road. No one had a standout game offensively for New England, but they got scores from CB J.C. Jackson, RB Damien Harris, and TE Hunter Henry.

Meanwhile, Cleveland took their game against the Cincinnati Bengals last week by a conclusive 41-16 score. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Cleveland had established a 34-10 advantage. Their RB Nick Chubb was on fire, rushing for two TDs and 137 yards on 14 carries. Chubb put himself on the highlight reel with a 70-yard TD scramble down the left side of the field in the third quarter.

Cleveland's defense was a presence as well, as it got past Cincinnati's offensive line to sack the quarterback five times for a total loss of 25 yards. The heavy lifting was done by CB Troy Hill and DE Myles Garrett, who each racked up two sacks.

This next matchup is expected to be close, with the Patriots going off at just a 2.5-point favorite. They might be worth taking a chance on against the spread as they are currently on a three-game streak of ATS wins.

The wins brought New England up to 5-4 and Cleveland to 5-4. A pair of numbers to keep in mind before kickoff: New England enters the contest having picked the ball off 13 times, good for first in the NFL. But Cleveland comes into the contest boasting the third fewest thrown interceptions in the league at three. We'll see which of these strengths -- offense or defense -- will win out.
