what to know before you go
Is attendance mandatory for this event?
It is not mandatory. However, we expect all invited employees to arrange their schedules to the best of their ability so they can attend.

I am hourly; will I be paid to attend this event?
Yes, you will report your hours in attendance for the day on your timecard for the week.

Official Event Hours to come!
*Breakfast is optional and will not be paid.
**Happy Hour is optional and will not be paid. However, we encourage everyone to stay and participate in this great opportunity to connect with fellow team members, reflect on the day's highlights, or catch up with colleagues you don’t see regularly.

Note: To be paid, you must enter your time using the regular timecard reporting method for your manager to approve.

How do I record my or my employee's time to be paid for Summit?
Enter your time as you usually would in HCSS, E360, or Workday for your Manager to approve. Any QR codes or check-in areas at Summit are for Training Attendance reporting ONLY and will NOT be used for payroll reporting!
**HeavyJob time entries should use the 99000x.xx series job numbers and phase code 1020.0010.000 for your Service group. Managers, please communicate with your team as to who will be responsible for submitting timecards for Summit 2025. This will help alleviate any confusion or double entry of timecards. All hours should be submitted and approved using the normal method you use for your timecard!

Are there Hotel rooms available for out-of-town employees?
Yes, your manager must approve your travel and hotel. A link to the hotel connected to the conference center is located above.

Do I get paid for mileage?
Possibly. Generally, your commute is the drive from your home/starting point to the job site/office. If this is a greater commute than your standard drive to and from the office, then mileage reimbursement may apply. Reimbursement can be requested for all miles from the regular office/job site to the event.

Extended Commute – Yes, Veit will reimburse you for any “extra miles” above your normal commute. Normal Commute miles = home/starting point to your regular job site/office.

How should I submit for mileage?
Use your standard process on your timecard or with the Employee Mileage Reimbursement form.

Should managers allow or offer employees who may have OT that week an opportunity to leave early/earlier on another day that week to accommodate for the 45 minutes of potential OT for Summit?
This depends on the work schedule or business needs of your department. Some managers will require/allow the OT, while others may have the ability to accommodate the schedule change based on your department’s workload. If able and budgeting for OT time, the manager can work with their employees to decide what best works for their team's needs. Veit Management continues to leave this discussion between the manager and their department/budget needs.

What meals are provided?
Breakfast, lunch, and happy hour appetizers will be provided to attendees.

Will an IT Help Desk be available to support my tech needs/questions?
Our IT team will be on-site to answer questions or help with technology updates during the event. Please bring your equipment (phone, laptop, iPad) if you have questions or need assistance. More information will be delivered at registration

Show Your Team Support!
The dress code for this event will be casual. We encourage all attendees to wear their Veit, Veit Disposal, and Vonco gear proudly during the Summit!
