Suncrest Spike Volleyball Tournament
Suncrest Spike is a FUNDRAISER Volleyball tournament raising funds for the local Bite2Go program!

This program provides food over weekends and school breaks throughout the school year to over 120 students in the Nine Mile Falls district. This takes close to $40,000 a year to fully fund and any donations help meet the practical needs of these great kids and families in need!

ALL proceeds are donated through Suncrest Worship- a local church who facilitates this program with 2nd Harvest and the local schools.

This is a 6 on 6 straight up double elimination tournament with no pool play. This is so that we can get it all done in one day.

You must have 2 female players on the court at all times (just like Spike & Dig) and you can have up to 8 players on a team in total.

ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST FILL OUT A WAIVER LINKED TO THE RIGHT -->

2ND HARVEST & THE B2G PROGRAM

Weekend food, lifetime tools

In our region, 1 in 5 children face the daily challenge of not having enough to eat. This isn’t just about empty stomachs—it’s about the future of our community. When children are hungry, it’s harder for them to focus and learn in school. But together, we can change this story. Join us in ensuring no child in our community goes hungry. With Bite2Go, we’re not just feeding kids—we’re nourishing their potential, one weekend at a time.
TOURNAMENT RULES

2026 Suncrest Spike Rule Sheet (Your ABC's of the Day)

(a) Before each match, every player must legibly sign their name to the match score sheet (which includes a waiver of liability). Important: this means the Team Captain must not sign for all players; the match cannot start until completed (possible forfeit if not).
(b) Teams must have a minimum of two females on the court at all times; teams may play with less than six people as long as the two female minimum rule is followed (ie, even just two females, one male and two females, etc.); no ghost position needed
(c) We do not have court marshals - therefore we expect top notch sportsmanship. This is a Fundraiser tournament for families in need - let's keep the focus on fun as we raise money for the Bite 2 Go program!
(d) All matches should start promptly once announced.
(e) Following the USA rules format, all SETS will be rally scoring (ie, a point is scored on every serve; eg, a point and the serve goes to the receiving team when the serving team serves long). Each match will be two out of three SETS with the first two SETS scored to 25 and the third SET, if necessary, to 15 (switch sides when either team reaches 8 points in the third SET only). MUST WIN BY 2 POINTS
(f) The third SET (if necessary) will begin immediately after the second SET and after the Team Captains have determined serve/side;
(g) There are no scorekeepers provided by Suncrest Spike; the two Team Captains should initiate getting the score sheet signed by their players, getting a person on the sidelines to keep score. Please get play quickly after your game is announced.
(h)We will provide a game ball. IF both team captains agree, you can utilize a personal ball for your game.
(i) A 1 minute timeout per team will be allowed in SETS 1 and 2; either team can take the full 30 seconds when a timeout has been called; there will be no timeouts in the 3rd SET.
(j)If a team is not ready to play by 10 minutes after their game is announced, they will forfeit.
(k) Normal volleyball clockwise rotation after each side out is mandatory (ie, no player is always in the front row or back row). There are no liberos or defensive specialists. However, substitutions are allowed freely between serves, so long as no rotation change happens and 2 females are on the court.
(l) The court lines (ropes) are in---if the line moves, the ball is in-bounds; try to keep the lines as straight as possible (lift and snap).
(m) Please call out the score before each serve so scorekeeper hears it.
(n) Any attempted or actual blocking/spiking of the receipt of serve by the receiving team is an automatic point for the serving team; please note this includes a serve which is clearly going long or wide. In other words, no intimidation is allowed.
(o) Players can serve from anywhere behind their end line but must stay within the extensions of the two sidelines; at the time of serve all other players must have both feet within court boundaries.
(p) There are no antennas, center lines, or 10 foot attack lines; call your own team for obvious violations and replay any close calls or disputes.
(q) Since there is no center line, it is legal for players to step under the net so long as there is no interference or physical contact with the other teams’ players. There should never be any contact with the net or poles during play.
(r) Players are strongly encouraged to wear shoes for their own safety (sprinkler heads, etc.); no spikes or cleats are allowed.
(s) Players are asked to play on the honor system and call themselves for violations---especially nets, double hits and carries; if there is a dispute, it should be decided by replay. (Remember however, you're not at the Olympics).
(t) Stop play if there is any blood or serious injury; send another player to get help from the first aid station Call 911 if necessary.
(u) Immediately following the match, the winning Team Captain is responsible for taking the scoresheet to the Master Scoreboard.
(v) Rules not specifically addressed above will be governed by current USA Outdoor Volleyball Rules.
(w) Only players on the official team roster are allowed to play; NOTE: no players can be added once tournament play begins.
(x) PLEASE---NO ALCOHOL OR TOBACCO/VAPING PRODUCTS ARE TO BE BROUGHT ONTO THE PROPERTY.
(y) Think safety---bring plenty of water (stay hydrated) and sun tan lotion
(z) We encourage you to support our vendors by going and getting snacks / drinks / food during the day!
