About our Speaker
Khun Kim Alan Edwards
the Program Leader (Prosperity) for Thailand and Myanmar at the World Bank, based in Bangkok
In recent years he has also covered Cambodia and Lao PDR, and was previously Senior Country Economist for the Pacific (2014-2020). Kim leads the World Bank teams engaged on macroeconomics and trade, poverty and equity, the financial sector, and governance. He has led several development policy operations as well as cross-cutting analytical work including country economic studies and the 2023 Thailand Public Revenue and Spending Assessment. He is currently leading the preparation of the Thailand Country Climate and Development Report (CCDR). Prior to joining the World Bank, he worked at the Reserve Bank of Australia in various roles, including as a senior economist and manager of the International Finance section. He holds a Master in Public Administration in International Development from the Harvard Kennedy School, where he was a Fulbright Scholar.
