Honoring Our Journey: 15 Years of Impact Gala
Join us for our anniversary celebration. As a nod to the Black rodeo, we will celebrate the longstanding history of Black folks as pioneers- a title we still hold today as birth workers, social activists, engineers, educators, and so much more. We look forward to coming together in the spirit of uplifting the legacy of Black cowboys, frontier homemakers, country soul music, and zydeco. As always, RJ will still be the center of our show!

15 Years of Impact
For 15 years The Afiya Center has been committed to addressing systemic and environmental concerns that position Black womxn to experience health disparities at higher rates than other individuals.  What started as a mission to address the extraordinary prevalence of HIV among black womxn, The Afiya Center is now the only Black-led, unapologetically Black womxn centered reproductive justice organization in Texas.

The Afiya Center has worked to challenge and change systems and policies that perpetuate reproductive health disparities including those related to healthcare access, reproductive coercion and maternal mortality. Through research, policy, advocacy, and community mobilization, The Afiya Center strives to raise awareness about the factors contributing to these disparities and promote solutions that center the experiences and needs of Black womxn and girls.

The Afiya Center continues to be the leading voice in the Reproductive Justice movement in Texas, working tirelessly to ensure that Black womxn and girls have the resources, support and autonomy to make decisions about their reproductive health and well-being.
