Terrence "The Champ" Hamilton, Jr is a 17-year-old with Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC), autism, and epilepsy. He has been experiencing seizures since he was three days old. Unfortunately, his severe seizures require medical intervention, such as a VNS magnet and emergency seizure medication. Despite having brain surgery in September 2022, he still has drop seizures, causing head and body injuries. Terrence believes having a specially trained seizure assistance dog will help him feel safer, provide comfort, and increase independence. His doctors believe having a seizure assistance dog could be life-changing and life-saving for Terrence.
4 Paws for Ability trains service dogs to recognize the scent changes when a child is having a seizure. They approved Terrence for their service dog program, and now he is tasked with raising $17,000 to make his dream come true.
Terrence is Rocky Balboa's biggest fan. As a matter of fact, he has taken acting and boxing lessons so he can be like Rocky. His boxing coach, Mike Cook, is graciously helping Terrence host the Fighting for A Cause charity boxing match.

Terrence's doctors and individuals struggling with the same issues advised Terrence and his parents to apply for a service dog to assist Terrence with his life challenges and help him gain independence. By partnering with 4 Paws for Ability, Terrence is taking steps to avoid or minimize a severe injury from a seizure. 4 Paws for Ability trains service dogs to recognize the scent changes when a child is having a seizure. 4 Paws has a high success rate in the seizure assistance dog responding to the seizure either during the seizure or, at times, even before! Terrence struggles with his balance due to seizures, and 4 Paws trains the service dog to provide balance support. If Terrence is struggling behaviorally or emotionally, his service dog can be a great tool to offer task-trained calming, comforting, and redirecting support. Terrence's seizure dog will become his very best friend.
Terrence greatly appreciates any and all help given to help continue to protect and keep him safe, even if it's sharing this with your friends and family. A service dog can positively impact the rest of Terrence's life.
4 Paws approved Terrence for their service dog program, and now he is tasked with raising $17,000 to make his dream come true. On average, it costs between $40,00-$60,000 to raise, train, and place a service dog at 4 Paws for Ability.

We have an exciting lineup of activities, including a boxing match, delicious food and drinks, a silent auction, and a silent disco. Additionally, we will be projecting football games from the SEC all around the venue, so you won't miss any of the action. We have a few surprises in store that you won't want to miss!
