Our Gala is sold-out
Thank you to all who made it possible.
Dear THBA members and friends,

On behalf of the Tampa Hispanic Bar Association, I sincerely thank you for your support of our organization’s mission through your previous generous sponsorship of our Gala. Our Annual Scholarship Gala Dinner is the main fundraising event for THBA. The organization utilizes the net proceeds of the Gala to help fund the invaluable programs offered to our members and colleagues, to participate in community outreach programs, and most importantly, to award scholarships to deserving law school students of Hispanic origin.

After a two-year hiatus due to COVID, our 14th Annual Scholarship Gala will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at 6:00 p.m., at Hotel Haya in Ybor City. We promise a fun night of music, drinks, food, and great company all in celebration of our beloved Hispanic roots.

We invite you to check the sponsorship opportunities and benefits available this year. Payments by check are preferred as they help us to cut transaction fees.

If you have any questions or need additional information, please contact us at [email protected].

Music and Dancing

THBA is proud to present musical performer Luiyi. Luiyi's music combines Latin rhythms such as bachata, vallenato, and reggaeton, which are reflected in his albums “Descubrir” and “Amanecer.” As a Latin artist, who is  also an attorney, Luiyi understands the importance of coming together to support the professional development of the members of our beloved community. For this reason, Luiyi is kindly donating his performance at the Gala. Please join us in welcoming Luiyi. Let's party THBA!

Invited Artists
Luiyi

Luiyi began his career as a singer at the age of 8 years old under the tutoring of one of the most important representatives of lyrical music in Latin America—Cuban Master, Ramón Calzadilla. Luiyi’s intensive training led him to become one of the youngest singers to perform as a soloist with the Bogotá’s Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Colombian soprano Carmiña Gallo.

In 2015, while working toward his law degree at the Universidad de Los Andes in Bogota, Colombia, Luiyi traveled to the city of Miami to record his first album under the direction of Cuban producer and composer Guianko Gómez, winner of more than 16 Latin Grammys and 1 Anglo. Luiyi’s first bachata solo, “Esperando por Ti” quickly rose to top of the radio charts in Colombia, captivating thousands of listeners in the country and around Latin America.

In 2021, Luiyi was recognized as the best composer of the California Latin American Song Festival, obtaining the Platinum Disc Award for his song “Descubrir.” Currently, Luiyi is working on his new musical production in Miami.
