Match-making will be powered by Matchbox. It’s a software that uses relationship science to find you your most compatible match at the party. The algorithm has matched more than half a million people to date, across 40 countries. It optimizes for long-term compatibility, based on values—but it’s up to you to see if you’ll click.

How it works:

• Upon arrival, you’ll take a matching questionnaire built by Matchbox's team of relationship scientists and curated by your host.
• The Matchbox algorithm will identify your optimal match at the party, based on relationship science, AI, and Nobel Prize-winning economics.
• After mingling with the whole group, matches are revealed!

Q: What age range is the event for? A: This event is for 20-30 year olds.
Q: What if I don't get a match? A: We aim to maintain a 50/50 male to female ratio but cannot guarantee that all attendees will show up, as life happens. If there is an uneven split, some matches will be paired platonically. These people receive a free drink ticket.
Q: How are the questions chosen? A: Matchbox has a team of relationship science researchers who study what questions are important for predicting long-term compatibility. They’ve written thousands of possible questions over the years. Your host has selected 20-30 of their favorite questions to build your particular questionnaire.
Q: How does The Algorithm work? A: The Matchbox Algorithm is designed to match you with someone you’re compatible with deep down. It’s up to you to see if you click. But if you do, the long term is taken care of. The Algorithm will give you your best match at the event—subject to everyone else also needing to get exactly one match.
Q: What’s behind the research? A: Early research happened through an organization called the Marriage Pact, which runs an event for 100,000s of students at colleges around the country every year. It’s called “the marriage pact” because it was designed to introduce participants to their “optimal marital backup plan”. They may not be Prince Charming, but they will be a practical choice—someone who you could spend a great 50 years with.
