You are invited to a special gathering introducing
The Cheryl Hauser Effect, a documentary now in its final stage of production.
The film shares the story of Cheryl Hauser, a Minnesota woman who, after being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, chose to face the end of her life on her own terms through VSED (Voluntarily Stopping Eating and Drinking). At seventy-six, Cheryl became a thoughtful and courageous voice for end-of-life autonomy, helping spark important conversations about Alzheimer’s, caregiving, and the right to make deeply personal medical decisions.
During this one-hour gathering you will:
• View selected scenes from the documentary
• Learn more about VSED and end-of-life options
• Hear from those directly involved in the story and the work around end-of-life autonomy
A conversation will follow with:
Phyllis Shacter, author of
Choosing to DieKate Christie, author of
The VSED Handbook: A Practical Guide to Voluntarily Stopping Eating and DrinkingErin Glass, Partner and Attorney at Chuckanut Law Group, specializing in estate planning, elder law, and VSED
