Documentary Preview, Panel Discussion, VSED Resources Information and Professionals
Join Wendy Longacre Brown and Sarah Brown as they share the powerful story of their mother, Cheryl Hauser — a Minnesota woman who, after her Alzheimer’s diagnosis, chose to meet the end of her life on her own terms through VSED (Voluntarily Stopping Eating and Drinking).
Following the documentary preview, Wendy and Sarah will be joined by professional and experts on a panel to lead a community conversation. At 76, Cheryl’s decision and the nearly 100 hours she allowed to be filmed have sparked a vital conversation about dementia, caregiving, autonomy, and what it means to choose your own path. By opening her final chapter to the public, she gave her daughters not only the role of producers, but the chance to invite the community into shaping a film that will educate, comfort, and empower families for years to come.
