What accessibility features are available at the event?

In the registration process, we will request your accessibility requirements. Please let us know in as much details as you feel comfortable sharing.

We encourage you to participate in a way that works for you and also give you the opportunity to request any additional accessibility accommodations in the registration form.

Accommodation and Amenities
What type of accommodation is available?

Guests will be accommodated in a selection of luxurious rooms, suites and villas throughout the resort. Some accommodation is located within separate villas a short distance from the main property. Rooms will be allocated based on capacity to ensure everyone is comfortably accommodated.


What amenities are available on-site?

The venue offers a range of amenities, including a spa, fitness centre, swimming pool, and access to beautiful outdoor spaces.

When is check in?

You are free to check in from 2pm on your first booked day.

How do I check in if I am playing golf on Friday?

Please bring your luggage to reception before your game of golf, and RACV Cape Schanck will securely store for you, until you are able to check in, from 2pm onwards.

When is check out?

Check out is at 10am on the final morning of your stay.

Activities
What activities are available during The Retreat?

The Retreat offers a variety of activities, including yoga sessions, golf, trips to the hot springs, winery experiences, and children's activities. You can find out more information on our Agenda.

Are there any special events planned during the weekend?

In addition to the gala dinner, guests can look forward to live entertainment, interactive workshops, offsite activities, and more.

Can I participate in all activities, or do I need to sign up in advance?

All activities will need to be pre-booked when registering. If you need to make any changes to your registration, you can do this from within your booking confirmation or by emailing [email protected].

How do I book my spot for The Retreat?

The Retreat is invite only, however if you would like to register your interest, please contact us at [email protected]

What is the cost of attending The Retreat?

The cost varies depending on your package type. Please contact [email protected] if you have any questions regarding pricing.

Are there any sponsorship opportunities available?

Thanks for your interest in supporting us! We have various sponsorship opportunities for individuals and organisations. Please contact us on [email protected] if you would like more information.

Catering
What type of meals will be served at The Retreat?

Guests will enjoy gourmet meals provided by RACV Cape Schanck, with some offsite options for certain activities. You will be provided with all meals while at The Retreat. Special dietary requirements will be accommodated upon request. Please contact [email protected] if you missed adding your dietary requirements during registration, and we will do what we can to accommodate.

Can special dietary needs be accommodated?

Yes, we are happy to accommodate any dietary needs. Please inform us of your requirements during registration or email us at [email protected].

What time is breakfast?  

RACV will provide buffet breakfast in Samphire restaurant on Saturday and Sunday morning from 7:00am – 10:30am.

Is there a dress code for The Retreat?

While there is no formal dress code for your daily activities, we do have a cocktail dress code at our Gala Dinner.

Will there be opportunities to learn more about the Cerebral Palsy Alliance during The Retreat?

Yes, there will be opportunities to engage with representatives from the Cerebral Palsy Alliance, learn about our initiatives, and see firsthand the impact of your support.

Fundraising
Where will funds raised from The Retreat go? 

Funds raised from The Retreat will fuel the incredible work of Remarkable, a division of CPA, in accelerating groundbreaking technologies to benefit people with disabilities. Technology has the power to augment our abilities and overcome barriers and we want tech to help enable an inclusive future. Thanks to your support, we can harness their strengths in engineering and boost our founders with world-class support. Funds raised at The Retreat will support Remarkable and accelerate a more inclusive future for people living with cerebral palsy and other disabilities. By joining us at this event, or contributing to the cause, you too can be a part of this extraordinary mission.

Can I participate in fundraising activities during The Retreat? 

Absolutely! We encourage guests to participate in our fundraising activities, including silent and live auctions, pledges, and the champagne bar, where all proceeds go towards supporting Cerebral Palsy Alliance. 

Are there other ways I can support?

Aside from the ability to donate here, The Retreat has a range of sponsorships available. Additionally, we accept donations of goods to be used as giveaways, or sold in our silent auction throughout the event. If you are interested in hearing more, please contact [email protected]

Gala Dinner
What is the dress code for the gala dinner?

The dress code for the gala dinner is cocktail attire.

Will there be a silent auction during the gala dinner?

Yes, the gala dinner will feature a silent auction with exclusive items available for bidding. All proceeds will support Cerebral Palsy Alliance. 

What time does the gala dinner start? 

The gala dinner will commence at 6:30pm, with a cocktail reception starting at 6.00pm.

What does Cerebral Palsy Alliance do?

Cerebral Palsy Alliance is a non-profit that provides services to thousands of people living with cerebral palsy and their families, as well as being the global leader of expertise for cerebral palsy research, advocacy, intervention and assistive technology innovation.

By fundraising for Cerebral Palsy Alliance, or donating to a fundraiser, you're helping give kids and adults living with cerebral palsy, and their families, opportunities to reach their goals and full potential.

Below is why your fundraising for Cerebral Palsy Alliance is so important:

- CP is the most common physical disability in childhood.
- Around 1 in 700 Australian babies is diagnosed with CP.
- More than 34,000 Australians live with CP.
- The rate of cerebral palsy in Australia has declined by around 40% over the past two decades.

What is The Retreat? 

The Retreat is a luxurious weekend getaway that combines relaxation with supporting the Cerebral Palsy Alliance, offering guests a unique opportunity to unwind while contributing to a meaningful cause.

When and where is The Retreat held?

The Retreat takes place on Friday 28 to Sunday 30 August, at RACV Cape Schanck.

What is included in The Retreat package?

The package includes accommodation, meals, access to all planned activities, and events like our Friday Welcome, Gala Dinner, and exclusive after party featuring headline entertainment.

Children
Are children allowed at The Retreat? 

Yes!
On Friday evening we have a creche opening from 5pm for kids 1-5. The Welcome event will be child friendly with activities available for ages 6-14 years. On Saturday, we are offering family friendly activities, and a creche option for children 1-5 years.

What activities are available for children?

The Retreat will be providing a family friendly yoga session, and a family friendly hot springs session, where children are welcome to attend with their parents! We will also host a crafts and movie room on Saturday afternoon. There will also be a creche option for children 1-5 years. For more information please go to the Agenda.

Do I need to register my child for the Kids Club?

Yes, we recommend registering your child for activities in advance to ensure they have a spot and so we can plan accordingly.  

Will you organise babysitters for our children?

During the Gala Dinner, Cerebral Palsy Alliance will be able to source a babysitter for Saturday evening for your child. We are happy to subsidise 50% of the cost of their services, so guests will only have to cover $250 from the total fee. You can register for this service within registration, however if you did not, please contact us on [email protected].

Can I donate to the Cerebral Palsy Alliance if I cannot attend The Retreat? 

Yes, donations can be made directly through our website, and we greatly appreciate your support, whether or not you can attend the event. 

Travel and Logistics
How do I get to the event location?

The most effective way to the venue is to drive, where there will be ample parking onsite for all guests during their stay. Click here for directions.

Is parking available at the venue? 

Yes, complimentary parking is available on-site for all guests.

What should I pack for The Retreat?

We recommend packing warm, comfortable casual clothing for your activities, swimwear for the hot springs, and activewear for yoga, if you are participating. The Welcome Event will be more of a casual affair, however the Saturday night Gala Dinner is cocktail attire, so please bring something appropriate! It will be cool in the evenings, so please bring your winter woolies.
