TISU Cohort 8: Threat Intelligence Support Unit Training
Starting January 21, 2026, 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM
Every Wednesday of Spring Semester
(excluding holidays and spring break)
Building 57 CCE on GCU Campus (and via Zoom)
3300 West Camelback Road, Phoenix, AZ, USA
Join us for the Threat Intelligence Support Unit training, presented by Grand Canyon University (GCU) and the Arizona Cyber Threat Response Alliance (ACTRA).  The training is the first step in a journey that also includes an opportunity to join a community of volunteer analysts, creating new career pathways and onramps for people starting out their cyber career.

This training will span one semester, covering topics ranging from the basics of attack and defense to mapping out attack surface, adversary profiling, and other interesting topics. It is built on a foundation of MITRE ATT&CK and CIS18, making the lessons practical and relevant to up-skilling and working toward job opportunities in a Security Operations or Administration role.

The program is free of charge, up to the seating capacity available and is open to the public, subject to the rules/code of conduct established.

Sessions will be every Wednesday night at 5:30 PM (to 7:00 PM) on the GCU campus, in the Cyber Center of Excellence (or a designated lecture hall) in building 57. There will be no session on any weeks that fall on a national holiday or over fall break. A zoom link will be available for those unable to attend in person, with the caveat that some labs will be local.

We hope you will join us on this learning journey. Key details can be found in the FAQs below.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs):

What am I registering for?

This registration is for the TISU training only. Those who complete the training and pass the test will have the opportunity to apply/join the volunteer community.

What if I want to attend the classes and learn, but do not want to take the test, earn the certificate, or join the community after the class is finished?

You are absolutely welcome to come and learn, even if you do not intend to join the community or take the test.

What if I only want to learn some of the topics covered?

In the first session, we will cover an agenda for the course. You are welcome to come and attend any portions of the training, ad hoc, subject to seating capacity.
