Welcome to Mill District in beautiful Sonoma County, California. Home to the quaint, foodie town of Healdsburg, which also boasts some of the world's best wineries and world-class cycling roads. Mill District Velo infuses a health and wellness culture and energy into the future Mill District neighborhood development and has been blending cycling with social and elevated culinary experiences since 2018.
At the Mill District we host social pace rides, spirited pace rides, adventure rides and now, an aspirational ride titled "Toaster's Ride." This is for the skilled group cyclist who is looking for a challenging training day. A fast group ride can be a significant contributor towards fitness gains and an exhilarating challenge. Please join with the route uploaded, be self sufficient and be prepared for a great workout.
How the ride will flow:Beginning from the Mill District traffic circle, we will pedal west on Westside Road briefly before a right to parallel the 101. Once turning left on Dry Creek Road the pace will pick up! Eventually we’ll turn right on Dutcher Creek and race up the climb. The front riders will soft pedal down the hill and wait up to 2 minutes at the first intersection. A quick right then another right onto Asti as the ride rolls south. The pace may pick up again here, but we won’t ride hard again until turning left through Geyserville and it’s a fast paced ride south on 128 to Jimtown. An eventual right on Chalk Hill which is a punchy section until the end. The pace will be high over the climb and then it’s speedy race until before the stop sign. From here a casual roll home through Windsor on Arata Lane, Los Amigos Road, and Old Redwood Highway. There is the opportunity to cut off the Dutcher Creek climb by turning right on Canyon Road at mile 8.5, meeting at the intersection on the other side.
