‘Healthy & Educated - Investing in School Health and Nutrition (SHN) to Transform Education and the Lives of Children and Young People’
At the Transforming Education Summit (TES)’ Solutions Day, 17 September, the Government of Morocco in partnership with UNICEF, WFP, UNESCO, WHO and FAO will take the lead in engaging heads of governments, policy makers, practitioners, and UN agencies to explore programmes, policies, and actions that have been undertaken to improve the health, including mental health and the nutrition of school-age children. With a focus on emerging evidence and practices primarily from developing countries, this meeting will provide an opportunity to address the importance of an integrated approach to school health and nutrition and the state of global and regional advances; to understand what an integrated package on school health and nutrition includes and why it is critical; to share experiences on how countries have delivered an integrated package of good diets, health, mental health and nutrition services, and promotion of healthy practices to improve the overall health, growth and development of learners and their learning environments; and to discuss on how the fiscal space for integrated school health, including mental health, and nutrition programmes can be expanded.
