West Point
Class of 2023
With Gratitude
We cannot thank you enough for your support of Q2's milestone move from high school and parental bosses, to his new life as a Plebe with Cadet bosses. Some of his high school thank you notes made it out before his reporting date of 1 July, some did not. So, we're dropping a video here (taken on 1 July) from Cadet Quinton II, at his request. Turn up the sound...;)

Thank You!

USMA Corps of Cadets
This past weekend we celebrated "A Day" (Acceptance Day) at the US Military Academy at West Point! "A Day" signifies the successful completion of Cadet Basic Training and the "acceptance" of new Cadets into the entire Corps of Cadets as Plebes. Q2 sounds strong, looks stronger and was excited to have completed shooting, land navigation and rappelling, to name just a few requirements.  He is already using new Army lingo that has his ole skool Army peeps asking for explanations. Q2's first day of classes as a Plebe (USMA First Year Student) was today, August 19th.

From the Coosa To the Hudson
The Coosa
The majority of the Coosa River, ~90%, sits in Alabama north of Montgomery and is one of the state’s most developed rivers. The Coosa River is a source of strength and an enormous resource, providing the basis for seven Alabama Power Company dams.

The Hudson
The United States Military Academy at West Point sits on the banks of the Hudson River. The significance of the Hudson River dates back to early days of the War for Independence. The Hudson River was a strategic decisive point, what’s considered in the Army as the “center of gravity” - meaning, whomever gained control of the river would gain victory of the Revolutionary War. American Forces used chains at the most critical spots along the River to block British ships with the key location being Fortress West Point.

Q2 has transitioned from hanging with his circle of friends in Alabama the beautiful & the Coosa River, to the Empire State of New York, the Hudson River and roommates from Egypt & The Gambia.  Just as both rivers serve as invaluable natural resources, it is our hope that he will reflect upon and harness vital skills and experiences from both regions.
Getting Ready for 2023!
Join us on May 27, 2023
Words of encouragement by friends, family and the community have served to build Q2’s internal fortress. The ongoing Prayers are forming his chain of strength and protection.

Prayer warriors, please join us as we continue to call on angels for Q2, his classmates and USMA. Needless to say, with the academy's rich history, large class size (~1200) and many constraints for visitors, we have begun saving pennies to get ready for 2023!! Plans for the milestone celebration (and interim events, i.e. 2019 Army-Navy Game, etc.) are underway so stay in touch.  With love, hugs and fist bumps!
