CELEBRATING URBAN EDGE AND AFFORDABLE HOUSING
Join us on Wednesday, May 21, at Community, Urban Edge's annual celebration of our work to build high-quality affordable housing and create vibrant, prosperous neighborhoods for Boston. We'll gather for live entertainment, interactive experiences, and delicious food paired with craft cocktails. Come reconnect with neighborhood leaders, visionary entrepreneurs, and dedicated public officials who share our commitment to building stronger, more inclusive communities. Last year, thanks to our Community supporters, Urban Edge provided housing and support services to nearly 1,500 low- and moderate-income households. We made significant progress in building new affordable homes in Boston and
enhanced the financial stability of hundreds of families. Here’s some of what we were able to achieve:
-Supported nearly 50 families in purchasing their first home
-Helped 33 households avoid foreclosure and stay in their homes
-Graduated over 400 households from our First-Time Homebuyer Class
-Assisted more than 600 people with tax filing
-Completed renovations of 78 affordable units, ensuring our families remain in safe and dignified homes

Through Gilbert’s leadership and strategic direction, WinnCompanies continues to deliver high quality award-winning mixed-income and mixed-use multifamily apartment developments that support a strong quality of life for residents of all incomes and enhance the surrounding community.
WinnCompanies is focused on advancing apartment communities through high-impact initiatives, including housing stability strategies for at-risk tenants, the expansion of low- and middle-income housing, comprehensive resident services and environmentally sustainable development.
He became CEO of WinnCompanies in 2015, and, alongside his partner, WinnDevelopment Managing Partner Larry Curtis, has grown the company to over 4,300 employees working in 27 states, Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia with responsibility for more than 760 properties and 116,000 apartments across all types and incomes.
Gilbert was previously chair of the Government Affairs Committee for the Greater Boston Real Estate Board and a past president of the Massachusetts Apartment Association. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania and, in October 2022, was inducted into the Affordable Housing Finance Hall of Fame.

At the crossroads of Boston's Latin Quarter and historic Black neighborhood of Jackson Square, we continue to foster prosperity and
