Victoria Trail Care Day
Drop by the south side of the Selkirk Trestle (trail access off Arthur Currie Lane) for a fun-filled day of activities and trail cleanup as we come together to care for the Trail.

Even if you can't stay for the whole day, feel free to stop in and learn more about the Trans Canada Trail and other local trail groups. We'll have information booths and friendly faces to answer all your questions.

Want to help care for the Trail? Come take part in a Trail Care activity at 10:30 AM or 11:45 AM. No registration required.

Help care for the Trail. For those joining later, a second safety briefing will be provided, volunteers will then continue work on removing invasive plant species and collecting garbage.

Do I need to register for this event?
No you don’t need to register for this event, drop in anytime between 10 AM and 1PM on Saturday June 1, 2024.

Is there a cost to attend this event?
No, this event is free to the public.

Yes, there are several activities you can take part in, see the schedule for more details.

What happens if it rains?
The event is happening rain or shine, dress according to the weather. We will cancel the event if severe weather is expected.

Is the event accessible?
Yes, the event is happening on a concrete section making it easy for people to access the space. The Trail section near the event is a combination of paved and boardwalk sections. Learn more about the event location at: https://accessnow.com/

Will there be photos taken at this event?
Yes, there will be a photographer present and local media may attend to report on the event. Look for “Notice of Photography” signs displayed at the event for more details.

Can I volunteer at the event?
Yes, we are happy to have extra help on Trail Care Day. Please email [email protected] to express your interest in volunteering.
What is the Trail Care activity?
There are two opportunities to volunteer for a Trail Care activity (10:30AM or 11:45 AM). Volunteers will be directed by CRD staff on how to properly remove invasive plant species and collect garbage along the Galloping Goose Regional Trail.

Do I need to register for the Trail Care activity?
No pre-registration is required. Please arrive 10 minutes before the session start time to check in as a volunteer at the Trail Care booth.

Will I receive directions on what to do?
Yes, CRD staff will begin each session with a safety briefing and demonstration on how to properly identify and remove invasive plant species.

What do I need to bring to participate in the Trail Care activity?
You don’t need to bring anything, we will supply all the tools and safety equipment you need for the Trail Care activity. If you prefer, you can bring your own pair of gardening gloves. Remember to bring a water bottle, there will be a refill station on-site.
