One Month to Go!
Guten-tag!

One month from today we will be traveling to the beautiful fairgrounds in Grass Valley for our rally! We are continuing to prepare for your arrival and we have about 6 sites left. We increased our available sites to 70 this year, so it will be a large showing. In addition to our social hosts the Harps, two important people are continuing to help this year and make a larger rally possible - Kristie Garcia and Brenda Janssen. If you want to make a site change, it is best to make your request the day you arrive.

As you prepare to travel to us, remember our agenda is on our website in the link below and the campground map is also included for your convivence. There also is a Frequently Asked Question section on our website which is worth looking over for vital information. Two important informational items included in this section are there are no fire rings (but propane fires are fine) or tables at the campsites.

Our theme this year is Octoberfest - so make it fun in any way you like. We are a low-key rally where the people make it fun and there are just enough activities to make it social. This has always been the philosophy for a Harps' rally. This year we will have a few "mores" - more people, more raffles, and more prizes.

If you need any information, feel free to email or call. We are all volunteers and we will get to you as soon as possible!

Looking forward to seeing all of you next month!
FAQ's
Questions and Some Answers!
  1. Can I sell merchandise at the rally? - Yes, you can! You are free to put up tables at any time, especially the day of the open house on Saturday. Someone must want that set of rare wheel bearings from your 1959 Kenskill.
  2. Is there a dump station on site? - Yes, there is! There is a $10.00 fee and access is easy.
  3. How are the bathrooms at the fairgrounds? - We have all been there with the bathroom situation. The bathrooms were upgraded about 5 years ago and have showers and flush toilets. There is a code to get into the bathrooms, so they are not used by the public. I know everyone has a subjective evaluation of bathrooms, but I think they are quite functional and clean.
  4. How do I find out where my site is located? - Just click on the "Campground Map" link below and look up your number. If you are concerned about the site you are assigned, just give me a call at the number below and we will work it out.
  5. How do I find out what we are doing each day? - We posted the agenda on the "Rally Website" link below.
  6. What is our theme for this year? - It is Octoberfest!
  7. Are the Harps going to be at the rally? - Of course! We have promoted them to social ambassadors and they will be there having fun with the rest of us. If any of us see Joel working on a trailer, we need to tell him to rest and enjoy the propane campfire! We are just helping with the logistics of running the rally.
  8. Are campfires allowed? - Sadly, no. You are allowed to have a propane campfire at the current time. I will update this as time goes on.
  9. How do we find out about activities in Grass Valley/Nevada City? - We will have a talk on Friday morning on the many things to do in the area
  10. If I want to just bring my trailer and not cook, are there enough food choices in the area? - Yes, there are! The area has every food choice imaginable (I'n not kidding). Just ask one of the VTP Crew and we can direct you. Remember, we have coffee, donuts, fruit, and tang (it's a Harp tradition!) on Saturday morning and our potluck on Saturday evening.
  11. Am I going to have fun? - While we don't have a fun guarntee, we hope everyone has a good time.
  12. How many nights are included in the rally cost? We only have one cost for three nights. Some were wondering if they told us when they were going to arrive and if that affected the cost. It doesn't - one price for up to three nights!
  13. I forgot my site number! No worries, the VTP team has all the numbers and you will be greeted with a packet of information including your site number.
  14. Is Scott Leaman's birthday really the last day of the rally? Yes, his birthday is October 8th!
  15. Is there gravel/lawn to put up an awning? Yes! Each site has gravel or lawn to put up an awning
  16. Is there WiFi? - Well ...there is a password you can put in. Spotty is probably the best way to describe the WiFi. Of course there is great WiFi near the road where you come in.
  17. How do I know where to go? Go to Gate 4 and follow the signs to Information - we will be under an awning near the information booth for the campground.
  18. I can't get there until Friday, am I going to lose my site? No, if you paid, your site is paid for. We may put a sign on your site that says, "Cloaked Trailer" for make and year until you arrive.
  19. How do I get a hold of you if I have a change in plans during the rally? Just call (916) 913-9114
  20. I still have questions, who do I call or email? - Just call the number below or email me at [email protected].
