The VNTRbirds Moab MTB Retreat is a four-day deep dive into one of mountain biking’s most iconic destinations — built for riders ready to push their skills, connect with community, and experience Moab like a local.

WHO IT'S FOR
Riders who are confident on intermediate to advanced trails and excited for full, adventurous days in the saddle. Expect challenging terrain, long rides, and tons of progression.

Intermediate: You’ve been riding for a few years across varied terrain. You’re comfortable with rocks, roots, and small logs, and maintain solid control while climbing and descending. You have the fitness to ride for a few hours.

Intermediate-Advanced: You’ve been riding on varied terrain and are comfortable with medium rocks, roots, and small logs. You ride intermediate trails with confidence and are starting to push into advanced features. You’re looking to progress on larger obstacles, small drops, and jumps, while refining skills on switchbacks and steep, technical terrain.

Advanced: You’re confident on varied terrain and can handle long rides and advanced trails with larger obstacles, including log up-and-overs, drops, and some jumps. You’re comfortable on steep, technical climbs and descents, including switchbacks, rocks, and roots, and are looking to refine your skills and progress to bigger features and more airtime.

GETTING TO MOAB
Moab is remote—but that’s part of the magic. Here are a few easy ways to get there depending on where you’re coming from:

🚙 Driving
Many folks road trip to Moab (highly recommend if you can!).
  • From Denver: ~6 hours
  • From Salt Lake City: ~4 hours
  • From Grand Junction: ~2 hours
    Plenty of scenic stops along the way—make a trip out of it!

✈️ Flying
You’ve got a few airport options:
  • Closest: Canyonlands Regional Airport (CNY)
    → ~20 minutes to Moab, limited flights
  • Best mix of options + proximity: Grand Junction Regional Airport (GJT)
    → ~1.5–2 hour drive to Moab
  • Most flight options (often best pricing): Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC)
    → ~4 hour drive to Moab

🚐 From the Airport
Plan to rent a car or coordinate a ride from the airport. Once you’re in Moab, getting around town is easy—your car will mostly come in handy for trail access and exploring.

Wednesday – Arrival & Welcome

Thursday – Ride, Learn & Explore
· Morning riding focused on classic Moab terrain
· Skills development and technique sessions woven into the day
· Afternoon riding and desert exploration
· Casual evening hangout back at basecamp.

Friday – Progression & Choice
· Full day of guided Moab riding featuring favorite local routes
· Evening community gathering and group dinner

Saturday – Full Adventure Day
· Full send of riding the classics that you have always dreamed of.
· Afternoon flexibility for free riding or optional local trails
· Celebration and final group social in the evening

Sunday – Farewell
· Morning breakfast and closing ride options
· Departure and check-out by late morning

FAQ
Q. Are there any refunds if I cannot join?
A. All registrations are final and non-refundable. However, your spot is transferable—so if you can’t make it, you’re welcome to sell or gift your registration to a friend who meets the skill requirements. All transfers need to be made with a 72 hour or more notice. Under 72 hours no transfers can be made.

Q. Do I need advanced MTB skills to participate?
A. This retreat is designed for intermediate to advanced riders only. Participants should be comfortable on technical singletrack, handling elevation changes, and riding longer days. If you’re newer to Moab trails, we recommend brushing up on local riding tips or taking a VNTRbirds skills session before the retreat.

Q. Can I rent a bike or gear for the retreat?
A. Yes! Bike rentals can be arranged through Moab Cyclery. They are offering 10% off to VNTRbirds Moab Retreat participants!


Q. Can I bring my e-bike for this retreat?
A. E-bikes are welcome on this retreat, but some trail restrictions apply. You may not be able to ride certain sections with your group due to USFS and BLM regulations. Be prepared to adjust plans or demo a bike from Moab Cyclery for specific rides.

Q. I don’t have all the right gear yet—any deals available?
A. We’re exploring partnerships for discounted bikes, apparel, and gear to make it easier to ride fully equipped. Stay tuned—we’ll update participants as deals are confirmed.


Q. Can I bring my dog with me?
A> Although we love our furry friends, this is not the space for them. Please make arrangements for your dog/ pets to stay home.

· Nervous about riding in new terrain? VNTRbirds guides will be with you on every ride, offering coaching, route advice, and support. 
· Bring your camera! Moab trails and desert vistas are some of the most photogenic in the world.

Helmets Required:
All participants must wear a helmet while on the course or riding. Safety first!

Cancellation Policy:
All registrations are final and non-refundable. However, tickets are transferable—so if you can’t attend, you’re welcome to sell or gift your ticket to a friend.

Waiver & Medical Forms:
All participants are required to complete a waiver and medical history form prior to the event.
