VNTRbirds + Arc'teryx CO Presents Shaping the Snow: Femme Voices from the Industry
Shaping the Snow: Femme Voices from the Industry brings together four dynamic women from diverse backgrounds in the snow sports world for a powerful conversation. These panelists will share their personal stories of motivation and navigating setbacks as they carve their paths in a male-dominated industry. From the slopes to the boardroom, they’ll offer insights into the challenges they’ve faced and how they’ve persevered, broken down barriers, and redefined what’s possible for women in the snow industry. Join us for an inspiring discussion on resilience, empowerment, and the collective power of women shaping the future of snow sports.

Meet The Panelists + Mediator
VNTRbirds has invited a diverse group of women from all corners of the snow industry to share their stories. From professional skiers and avalanche educators to scientists and industry innovators, each panelist brings a unique perspective on the challenges, triumphs, and passion driving women in snow sports.
Gabby Schladale
she/her
During the COVID era, as the pace of the world shifted, Gabby was inspired to pivot both personally and professionally—landing in Silverton, Colorado. What started as a one-season guest services role quickly evolved into leadership across events, marketing, sales, and partnerships.
She now serves as the Director of Sales and Guest Services, a role she has held for the past five seasons. A proud Latina skier, Gabby is passionate about creating welcoming, high-quality mountain experiences and helping shape a more inclusive future in the outdoor industry.

Janine Prout
she/her
Janine Prout is a ski patroller, ski guide, EMT, and AIARE Lead Instructor, holding her AIARE Pro Level 2 and Lead Instructor Training. She brings extensive experience in winter backcountry travel, including ski patrolling, snowcat and non-mechanized adventures throughout the Western U.S. and Canada, with a deep connection to Central Colorado.

A dedicated advocate for women in the outdoor industry, Janine is fueled by powder days, recycled powder, and corn cycles alike.
Sarah Hamilton
SHE/HER
Sarah is a documentary filmmaker and backcountry skier based in
Salida, CO. Her films have taken her all over the world, from rivers,
wildfires, trails, to the skin track. Her passion for highlighting
women and femme stories extends beyond the lens to creating more
equity behind the camera. A hobbyist at heart, her current
hyperfixation is embroidery and gardening.
Leanne Wren
SHE/THEY
Our mediator for the night is co-owner of VNTRbirds. Leanne is a true mountain explorer, with an adventurous spirit that knows no bounds. Whether she’s mountain biking, backcountry splitboarding, or guiding women through the rugged terrain of international destinations, Leanne has spent their life pushing the limits and encouraging others to do the same. As a backcountry guide, they have built a wealth of experience and knowledge that she brings to every adventure, teaching others how to safely explore the wild while building their own confidence in the process. Leanne’s commitment to inclusivity and accessibility for femmes and non-binary adventurers is at the heart of what VNTRbirds is all about.
