We are delighted to present an exclusive 2027 travel and conference program, thoughtfully designed to combine professional development, meaningful contribution, and unforgettable wildlife experiences in Tanzania, Uganda & Rwanda
Scheduled for April and May, this journey takes place during a quieter period for veterinary clinics and a more accessible time to travel, without compromising on the quality of the experience. In fact, these months offer exceptional wildlife viewing, with the renowned Great Migration spread across the Serengeti, providing remarkable game-viewing opportunities.
The program has been carefully curated to include enriching pre-conference activities, a comprehensive conference itinerary, and a range of optional post-conference extensions for those wishing to explore further.
A key highlight of the
pre-conference experience is a five-day volunteer opportunity in collaboration with Mbwa Wa Africa Animal Rescue & Clinic and Four Steps to Freedom. This initiative allows participating veterinarians to make a direct impact through surgical neutering, health checks, and vaccination programs, contributing to vital animal welfare and rabies prevention efforts in the Arusha region.
Following this hands-on experience, delegates will come together for a
five-night / six-day conference, set against the breathtaking backdrops of the Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti National Parks. This portion of the journey has been designed to inspire as much as it educates—where daily sessions are complemented by sweeping savannah vistas, abundant wildlife, and the unique atmosphere of Africa’s most iconic conservation areas. Mornings will begin with crisp air and distant wildlife calls during game drives, while evenings offer more game drives and the chance to unwind under vast, starlit skies. The setting provides a rare opportunity to step away from the everyday, fostering deeper connection, fresh perspective, and meaningful professional exchange in an environment unlike any traditional conference venue.
For those seeking further adventure,
post-conference options include climbing Mount Kilimanjaro via the scenic Rongai Route or travelling to Uganda or Rwanda to encounter the extraordinary Mountain Gorillas.
This unique program offers a rare balance of education, service, and exploration—creating a truly rewarding experience for veterinary professionals both personally and professionally.
