7pm - 12am

'vienna', a new release on Small Forms Records w  FIM Basel Concert March 2023   Hypersurface is a NYC-based trio consisting of Drew Wesely (guitar/objects), Lester St. Louis (cello), and Carlo Costa (percussion).     Hypersurface explores timbral, durational, and formal aspects of improvisation with lenses focused on their instruments' acoustic particularities alongside employing tiles, railroad spikes, ceramic plates and other objects to expand them further. In coming together Carlo, Drew and Lester wanted to create a music that puts emphasis on the erasure of sonic boundaries, embracing the liminal spaces between their instruments, their sounds and the greater sonic environment. Timbre, gesture, duration, particles, layers… a real time tapestry of its own. The trio has given performances throughout the United States and Europe in a diversity of concert settings from clubs to large halls and galleries; with each utilizing the acoustics to follow potent musical pathways.    Kamau Amu Patton is an interdisciplinary artist and educator whose work examines history and culture through engagement with archives, documents, stories, and sites. Friends ! again it’s been a minute. We have a tendency to go quiet, but are always scheming new musical experiments. Hope you’ve found slight respite this summer from the daily horrors we learn that our most fucked up government is doing every single day. We hope you’re keeping on.

Sunday Sept 28 we are back at the LSD loft, for a smaller capacity but musically jammed packed session.

We’re thrilled to welcome:

Reymour (live)  - a band that we’ve been listening to and playing out for years now.
Swiss duo making incredible melancholic and groove tinged synth pop/ indie.
They released a first cassette, Enigme, on Berlin-based label Kinship in 2018, followed by 2 incredible albums on Amsterdam’s Knekelhuis.

Reymour is Lou and Luc, and they tell intimate stories, blending elements of psychedelic minimal wave, rolling bass, infectious guitar and not-so-naive vocals, their music tells stories that conjure up landscapes and feelings in the listener’s mind.

Joshua Cordova (dj) - musician and DJ, effortlessly balancing early experimental electronics, psychedelic disco, and first-wave techno.  He’s played all over EU, North, South and Central America  with notable stops at  DT Camp, Dekmantel Selectors, UFO Camp, and Is Burning....

He’s made music with Zoya Zerkalski, Sneaker DJ and Led Er Est's Sam De La Rosa, and with his band Mures, releasing on the Detroit-born FIT Sound, Parisian label PSR, Warsaw’s Syntetik, LUX REC sub-label MRT, and Rompe Hechizo. He holds a residency with Tblisi/Berlin based Mutant Radio.

The Spiral (live) - an artist of many names, Oliver Chapoy is a NYC based composer, musician, engineer, dj.  He came out of the influential Florida hardcore scene. He’s made music under Certain Creatures, concentrating more on club sounds, tripped out techno, and ambient polyrhythms.

Raw acid experimentations and modular synth narratives have always been at the helm of his output, which spans over two decades.
His monthly Lot Radio show Sensoria, shared with Clay Wilson, showcases his diverse taste, while his releases on Medical Records, Mysteries Of The Deep, and Styles Upon Styles stand out among the rest in his catalog.

Flyer artwork by the talented Stefan Unkovic aka Stevie Whisper.
V excited for the music and to see you all again.
