Wild Song Journey
Singing Our Hearts and Listening to the Land in the Olympic Wilds
Welcome to Wild Song Journey
Join us August 7th–14th, 2025 for a weeklong immersive soulful and creative journey in the wilds of the Olympic Mountains, guided by experienced facilitators Nico Kladis & Samara Jade. Throughout the week, we will develop a deeper sense of place and attunement using nature-based ritual, group singing and song-making, parts work, and dream work as access points to how we relate to ourselves, each other and our more-than-human kin.

A safe and supportive group experience is important to us and we will spend the time together cultivating this.

Cost: Sliding-Scale $800-1,200. The bottom tier of this sliding scale is the minimum required to cover our expenses and make this trip happen. Please consider paying more if you are abundant!

Physical requirements: We will hike five miles into our base camp, on a relatively flat trail along a river. Participants will carry their personal gear and lunches.

Meals: Delicious and nourishing breakfasts and dinners are provided, accommodating dietary needs. Participants bring 5 lunches.

This includes a solo fast (more information in the application regarding this).

This experience is open for all (ages 21 and up) who are longing to co-regulate with the earth, listen deeply to our inner and outer natural worlds, and court the wilds with song.
This experience is for you if:

You love the medicine of song and want to sing as a way of connecting to others or to yourself more deeply.

You want to experience a guided solo fast held in a ritual container.

You are open to soul and shadow work in a supportive way.

You are willing to live in the backcountry for a week and carry everything you need in a backpack.
The Journey
Days 1-3
Severance & Preparation
We will leave the vehicles behind and make our base camp home for the week in a wilderness area adjacent to Olympic National Park. This preparation will include circle and song technologies, clarifying intentions by entering into relationship with the place and taking some time to attune to the natural cycles of the land. This will also include getting clearer with our intentions, the why behind this choice to fast, to empty. This will include self guided inquiry and individual and group process.
Days 3-5
Solo Fast (threshold)
Everyone will find their own solo site and camp there by themselves, out of sight and sound of other group members, with only the bare minimum of gear to be safe and sufficiently comfortable. This is an opportunity to remove distractions (including food) and anything unnecessary in order to give your full attention to the process of emptying. (This is not a dry fast—you will be drinking water.)
Days 5-7
Integration
Everyone returns to basecamp to replenish and reunite with the group. This integration time will include guided practices, sacred witness, council, as well as simply being together before the return to a community welcome home on the last night at a national forest campground (participants are welcome to invite family/friends/loved ones)

Note: There will be a follow up group video call as part of the integration protocol some weeks after specific time TBD.

Your Guides
Samara Jade is a writer and singer of catchy medicinal songs, holder of sacred space, spelunker of the underworld, and avid explorer and guide of the wilderness and inner landscape of the soul. Through her music, facilitation, and one-on-one “song doula” work, Samara stands in service to guide others through the processes of transformative creativity and animistic nature connection while enchanting the world through song. Samara lives in the Southern Appalachian mountains of North Carolina (Cherokee territory) though strong tendrils frequently pull her to the Olympic Mountains of Washington State (s’Klallam/Chimacum).
Nico Kladis, MA is a facilitator and trained psychotherapist with a relational, somatic and culturally sensitive lens where personal healing and collective liberation can meet the conditions we are facing as a people, including our non-human kin and living world. He is a steward of place based men’s work, grief tending and community based rites of passage. He is also a budding song-catcher and breathwork facilitator drawing inspiration from the diverse ecosystems within and around the Salish Sea bio-region. He lives in Port Townsend, WA (s'Klallam/Chimakum land).
Samaya is a 35-pound German Shepherd/Shiba Inu mix. The runt of the litter, she was recognized early on as a healing force and soon became a certified therapy dog. More recently, she is a fixture among the Port Townsend/Chimacum community and is frequently spotted at Steps Beach and Cappy's trails.
