Join the NTA Disciples Women’s Ministries for a powerful weekend of worship, renewal, fellowship, and sacred reflection. Rooted in the timeless words of 1 Corinthians 13, this retreat invites women to explore the transformative power of love—love that is patient, kind, courageous, healing, and deeply rooted in Christ.

Throughout the weekend, participants will gather for meaningful worship, engaging Bible study, creative expression, and authentic community in the peaceful setting of Disciples Crossing.

Rev. Heidi Bounds
Keynote Speaker
Rev. Bounds serves as the Associate Minister at Central Christian Church, where she has been a member of the ministry team since 2009. A lifelong Austinite, Heidi married her high school sweetheart, Brad, who also shares equally deep roots in the Austin community. Throughout her time at Central Christian, Heidi has served as Director of Christian Education, Program Director, and now Associate Minister. She holds a Master of Divinity from Phillips Theological Seminary in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and completed the ordination journey with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), becoming ordained clergy in the Spring of 2025. She has a heart for mission work, both locally and globally, and has participated in 10 mission trips. In her free time, she enjoys traveling with her husband around the world, learning about the cultures, histories, and communities they encounter.
Kathryn Scroggins
Bible Study Presentation
Kathryn Scroggins is a proud native of Dallas, Texas, graduating 2nd in her class at Lincoln High School. She attended Draughon’s School of Business pursuing a degree in accounting. A devoted member of Cedar Grove Christian Church for over 51 years, she served as Choir President, Youth Sunday School Teacher, and President of the Disciple Women’s Ministry. She also served as the TCMF District 2 Disciple Women’s President.  Professionally, she made her mark at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, helping to establish phone centers and kiosks across the nation, retiring in 2001. She is a beloved wife, proud mother of 3 sons and 3 daughters, grandmother to 20, great-grandmother to 28, and great-great-grandmother to 3. In her free time, she enjoys drawing, praise dancing, singing, decorating, and serving as an encourager to others by her living testimony of faith and perseverance.
SATURDAY AFTERNOON BREAK-OUT SESSIONS
Breakout Sessions (Choose Two)
Participants will have the opportunity to attend two Saturday afternoon sessions designed to nurture spiritual, emotional, physical, and creative well-being:

1. A Corinthians Kind of Love – Exploring what it truly means to love as Christ loves. 

2. Fit to Serve: Strong Hearts for Purpose & Wellness – Strengthening the physical heart to support spiritual and community impact. 

3. Loving Others, Loving Self – Finding balance, managing stress, and restoring your loving nature. 

4. Epoxy Resin Heart: A Sacred Creation Experience – A hands-on artistic experience reflecting compassion, interconnectedness, and healing (additional $10; limited space).

What to Bring
 Pkgs. #1, #2, & #3 - sleeping bag/bedroll; pillow; towel; washcloth.

Everyone: Bible; flashlight; comfortable clothes and shoes; toiletries; ear plugs for sleeping, if needed; change for vending machines; snacks for sharing; money for silent action, offering, etc. And, oh yes, Bring Your Friends!

Because this event is intended for the feeding of the souls of adult women,
NO children - other than nursing babies - will be accepted.
Please make arrangement for the care of toddlers and children elsewhere.

No outside vendors or outreach will be allowed unless approved by
Retreat Committee prior to the registration deadline of 4/10/26.
