Create a Garden: Fused Glass Workshop
Join us on May 2nd 2026
Over the course of this three-hour session, you will design and build a 9″ x 12″  (H X W) fused glass gardenscape that will later be mounted in a metal frame or easy display in your garden or outside areas. Susie will provide step-by-step instructions and plenty of individual support, making it approachable for complete beginners and engaging for experienced makers.

Working with a wide variety of colorful glass and crushed glass “frit,” you will layer shapes, add painterly details, and bring depth and light to your own botanical or garden scene. Photo references will be available to spark ideas, but you are encouraged to explore your own style, favorite plants, and personal color palette

.At the end of class, Susie will kiln-fire and process your artwork, a step that cannot be completed during the session. Firing and finishing typically take up to five days, after which your completed glass will be ready for pickup; shipping can be arranged based on actual postage costs.

All materials are included in the cost of the workshop, so you can simply arrive ready to create.

One of Zeitner's unique techniques is painting with light, a unique style of drawing and painting with glass powders and enamels combined with sheet glass. Using small screens, the powder is sifted in layers, sometimes fusing each layer separately. Glass enamel paints are applied over or under powder layers, then fused together in a final firing.
