Registration is now open for the Intermountain APIC’s Annual Fall Conference coming on October 10 - 11, 2024, in downtown Boise Idaho. The conference will be for two full days with a new optional pre-conference half-day seminar on October 9. Please register separately for these two events.
On Wednesday, the pre-conference seminar class will be “Microbiology for Infection Prevention” and led by our own expert Medical Lab Scientist members. Please come ready to learn about all things bacteria, culturing, gram stains and break points and bring your questions. Also, that evening will be a vendor sponsored dinner and networking event for all members to share some time getting to know each other and the available vendors.
On Thursday the official conference schedule starts with a kick off presentation by current National APIC President Tania Bubbs. This will then be followed with a day covering all things facility related including topics on meeting AAMI ST108 water quality standards, understanding HVAC systems and air flows, and IP concerns with construction. We have national experts coming in including former APIC President Linda Dickey who now serves as an IP consultant for construction, and Dick Moeller who is an engineer that works with healthcare HVAC systems. That evening, we will again have a vendor sponsored dinner with more specific education provided and plenty of socializing time.
Friday, we will have another full day of great presentations around sustainability and green initiatives in healthcare, avoiding personal and professional burnout, and sterile processing regulations. We will have a dedicated session for long term care with Heather Saunders on managing MDRO’s.
The Intermountain APIC Board has worked hard to offer topics that have been listed as those you have requested for further education. Please plan on joining us for this fun event and register soon.
