ABOUT THE SPEAKERS Ryan Oines, USD Discovery District Ryan Oines leads the USD Discovery District as President and CEO, driving economic growth through biotech and life sciences innovation. With over 25 years of experience launching startups and securing capital, he oversees the projected $314M development plan that includes 26 buildings and an estimated 2,800 jobs. His strategic vision strengthens public-private partnerships, positioning South Dakota as a hub for research and commercialization.
Pei Yen, New Heritage Ag New Heritage Ag’s mission is to build a healthier, more sustainable world through accelerated plant improvement. Our proprietary platform is designed to drastically shorten timelines and open new crop verticals for CRISPR-mediated precision breeding, serving both small labs and high-throughput commercial programs. The founding team draws upon decades of experience in platform and plant sciences. As CEO and Co-Founder, Pei leverages his lab experience at South Dakota State University and Duke University, and his track record as a cross-border serial entrepreneur to position New Heritage Ag to meet global demand.
Eddie Aamold, Inanovate Inanovate is a biotech startup focused on developing and validating medical diagnostic tests. With years of combined experience in clinical diagnostics, regulatory strategy, and product development, Eddie leads cross functional teams to translate laboratory innovations into reliable, market-ready assays. At Inanovate Eddie oversees R&D, clinical validation, quality systems, regulatory submissions, and commercial launch planning, ensuring diagnostic products meet rigorous performance and compliance standards. Eddie and his team at Inanovate recently received FDA clearance on their Lyme-ID test, a diagnostic test for the accurate detection of Lyme disease. The Lyme-ID test is scheduled to be released as a direct-to-consumer test later this summer.
