William Katz
partner
William is a partner at Carbert Waite and maintains an employment law and commercial litigation practice.

In his employment law practice, William has represented both employers and employees at all levels of Court in Alberta, with expertise in constructive dismissal, human rights, occupational health and safety, termination of employment, workplace bullying and harassment, workplace investigations, and wrongful dismissal matters.

With a diverse background in commercial and civil litigation, he has successfully represented clients across a wide range of disputes and has appeared before numerous courts and tribunals across Canada. He also possesses valuable experience as an arbitrator, mediator, and negotiator, and while he enjoys appearing in court when necessary, his focus is always on finding pragmatic and sensible solutions for his clients’ disputes.

As an experienced employment lawyer, Dylan advises employers and employees on a range of human resources issues, including employment contracts, workplace policies, terminations of employment, human rights, and privacy matters. Dylan works with businesses to address the tough legal challenges that arise in today’s workplace, including employee discipline, labour relations, employee disability, union certification drives, policy development, group dismissals, employment issues in mergers and acquisitions, and all manner of lawsuits and legal proceedings.  

Dylan also advises on methods of reducing employer liability and risk related to employment standards, occupational health and safety, and other statutory compliance issues. His practice also includes conducting and overseeing workplace investigations in situations involving allegations of harassment, violence, and discrimination.
