Join us on April 11 and April 18th, 2026
In ICI’s upcoming online workshop for leaders, you will explore and learn to work with embodied unconscious and conscious dynamics in groups. The workshop is designed for those of you leading and working in organizations and those of you interested in consulting to the Exploring Difference Conference in the fall of this year.
The workshop provides valuable practice for leaders and practitioners to:
Enhance your leadership and consultancy (capacity and skill) to observe and comment on the ways the body contributes to and is impacted by unconscious processes in groups
Deepen your self awareness through embodied exercises
Support attention to and learning about 'the group as a whole'
Explore and attend to social justice issues arising from difference
Deepen your capacity to take up staff roles in Exploring Difference Conference
Participate in community building to enable difficult conversations
This experiential learning will include opportunities to:
Participate in large and small groups in the "here and now" to understand how unconscious processes are mobilized in groups
Practice 'consulting and explore the impact of your consultations
Share learnings.
In order to use the training days as effectively as possible, there will be a preparatory session on April 2, 2026 from 9 am to 10. 30 a.m. on zoom. If you can't attend, please watch the recording which I will send out on April 3, 2026.

Jo-anne Carlyle
Jo-anne Carlyle PhD, Clin. Foren. Psychol., Org. Consultant, Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist. Having worked as a clinician, researcher, teacher and consultant for over 30 years, she is transitioning to work that has greater social impact for the final phase of her career.

Coahuiltecan and Latine (Chicanx). He consults on racial equity and social justice (Luna Consulting & Coaching). He formerly led Equal Voice Action, a membership organization of working poor families.

Anita Prasad
Anita is a grassroots community development and social justice worker. She is the Executive Director of Working for Change, a grass roots survivor based organization.
Leo Wilton
Leo (He/Him/His) is a Professor in the Department of Human Development at the State University of New York at Binghamton. In the field of group relations, he explores how cultural dynamics manifest within groups, organizations, and social systems and their relation to contemporary societal issues in people’s everyday lives.
Barbara Williams
Barbara Williams, EdD, Director of Bureau Kensington (BKI), a consulting practice working with movement building and feminist networks and organizations internationally.

ICI's Purpose
In our ever-increasing fractured and fraught political context, and as we work as activists, professionals, leaders and workers, we can encounter these difficult conditions within the groups and organizations with which we work - problems which are difficult to understand, discuss and and try to overcome.
At ICI we believe that making sense of these difficulties is key to becoming a more effective leader and individual through working to better understand ourselves, and the unconscious processes mobilized by individuals and groups working together and across difference.
Insight for Community Impact creates learning spaces in the social justice and public sector context to explore the conscious and unconscious dynamics related to difference and within group life. We seek to develop an ongoing network of social justice and public sector leaders prepared to struggle with how their past and present conscious and unconscious processes shape their interrelationships with themselves and each other.

Insight for Community Impact’s work is grounded in a pedagogy which makes use of:

Exploring the complexity and nuance of identifications
Social justice aspirations.
Within ICI's learning events we explore how unconscious processes shape our efforts to learn about difference in ways which do not repeat violent ‘othering’ and include embodiment and movement.
