We couldn't be more excited to host Eric Metaxas, author, most recently, of Revolution: The Birth of the Greatest Nation in the History of the World, a magnificent work whose title doesn't even do justice to the stories of courage, valor, sacrifice, faith, inspiration, brilliance and commitment to freedom in its many aspects that Metaxas offers to us in this extraordinary book. One cannot help but to be profoundly grateful for being a beneficiary of what those great men strove to accomplish, and indeed, did achieve against all odds. History books can drive us to tears in horror and outrage at atrocities committed; this one, however, moves us to tears in awe and gratitude, for we truly are blessed to have a history such as this, to live in a nation such as this. And regardless of how much of our history you're acquainted with, this work will add layers upon layers, wonder upon wonder, to the composition that is our founding.
And we are thrilled that he will be with us on this occasion, the celebration of the 250th birthday of our founding!
Eric Metaxas is a bestselling author, internationally recognized speaker, broadcaster, and one of America's most influential Christian intellectuals. Through his writing, speaking, media appearances, and ministry, he has spent decades exploring the enduring relationship between faith, freedom, virtue, and the future of Western Civilization.
He is the author of more than thirty books, including the New York Times bestseller Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy, widely regarded as the definitive modern biography of the German theologian and anti-Nazi dissident Dietrich Bonhoeffer.
His many acclaimed books also include Amazing Grace: William Wilberforce and the Heroic Campaign to End Slavery, Is Atheism Dead?, and Letter to the American Church. In his recent book, Revolution: The Birth of the Greatest Nation in the History of the World, Metaxas examines the American Revolution as one of the most consequential events in human history. Far more than a military struggle for independence, he argues, the Revolution unleashed a revolutionary vision of liberty, self-government, individual rights, and human flourishing that transformed the modern world. He also emphasizes the indispensable role of Judeo-Christian values in the birth and flourishing of this "greatest nation in the history of the world."
As host of the nationally syndicated
Eric Metaxas Radio Show, the popular

Socrates in the City, he has interviewed many of the most important thinkers, scholars, leaders, and cultural figures of our time, engaging millions of listeners on issues of faith, history, culture, and public life.
As we celebrate America's 250th Birthday, few voices are better suited to reflect on the meaning of our nation's founding, the blessings of liberty, and the responsibilities that accompany freedom. The American Freedom Alliance is honored to welcome Eric Metaxas as our keynote speaker.
