Abby Thompson and Veritas Academy present Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, directed by Abby Thompson.
This lively musical brings Roald Dahl’s beloved story to life as Charlie Bucket, a humble boy with a big heart, wins a golden ticket and steps into the mysterious factory of Willy Wonka.

Abby Thompson
Director
Abby is an Emmy Award Winning voiceover artist, actor, educator, playwright, and arts advocate. She was the 2024 recipient of the League of Chicago Theatre’s Samuel G. Roberson Jr. Resident Artivism Fellowship, where she wrote, directed, and produced Alex in Windyland, a devised play in collaboration with youth in Chicago’s foster care system. Abby has taught with Steppenwolf, Filament, Northlight, Mudlark, Storycatchers, Collaboraction, and Chicago Children’s Theatre and is part of Albany Park Theater Project’s Port of Entry.
She holds a BA in Acting with a minor in Voiceover from Columbia College Chicago.
