Timothy B. Smith, Ph.D., is a Lecturer & Professor of History at the University of Tennessee at Martin.  He was a ranger at the Shiloh Battlefield before becoming a professor.  Professor Smith has written numerous books on the Civil War including the highly acclaimed five volume series on Gen. Grant's Vicksburg Campaign.  Additional books include a three volume series on the Battles of Forts Henry & Donelson, the Battle of Shiloh and the Battle of Corinth.  Professor Smith has written a book on Col. Grierson's Raid through Mississippi and a book on General Grant's command entitled, The Decision Was Always My Own.

U.S. Grant Dinner & Colloquy St. Louis
Join us on July 18
At this event we will have a social hour with an open bar starting at 6:00 p.m. to be followed by a dinner.  Afterwards, we will have the colloquy with Professor Smith during which we will discuss topics about General and President Grant and then also entertain questions from those in attendance.
