Please join us for the June 2026 Chamber Luncheon with our featured guest speaker, Eddie Flores, Chief of Police at Western New Mexico University (WNMU).

Chief Flores has dedicated his entire professional career to protecting and serving our community. He began working in law enforcement in 1985 with the Silver City Police Department. In 1990, he joined the New Mexico State Police as a graduate of Academy Class 49. Over a 20-year career with the state police, he retired as the District 12 Captain.

Following his retirement, Chief Flores transitioned to higher education law enforcement, taking
the position as the WNMU Chief of Police in 2008.

In addition to his law enforcement duties, Chief Flores is deeply invested in our local community. He currently serves as the Commissioner of Grant County District 4 and sits on the New Mexico Organized Crime Commission, a position appointed by Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham. Chief Flores is also a former member of the Silver Consolidated Schools Board of Education and a past Little League board member, building a lifelong legacy of service.

During our luncheon, Chief Flores will share his perspective on the evolution of campus safety.
