About Speaker:

Dr. George V. Alvarez is a physician who truly embodies the "full scope of medicine". As a Clinical Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at NYU Grossman Long Island School of Medicine, he's shaping the next generation of doctors as a co-director for the Continuity Ambulatory Practice Experience (CAPE) and the Family Medicine Electives.
Dr. Alvarez's clinical practice is as varied as his teaching roles. At Carle Place Family Medicine, he sees patients of all ages, from infants to centenarians, for everything from complete physicals and sick visits to managing chronic diseases. He also spends a quarter of his time as an attending physician, rounding on admitted patients at NYU Langone Hospital-Long Island.
His passion for medical education and community care is evident throughout his work. Dr. Alvarez's research interests include medical education, health disparities, and improving access to care for Spanish-speaking populations. He has a history of developing student-run free clinics, and he continues to mentor medical students, helping them find their path in primary care. A true advocate for his community, Dr. Alvarez is a board member of RotaCare, an organization providing free healthcare to those in need.
