THE STORY OF OPUS ONE
Opus One was born from one of the most important partnerships in the history of American wine.
In the late 1970s, Baron Philippe de Rothschild of Château Mouton Rothschild and Robert Mondavi, two towering figures of the wine world, came together with an ambitious idea: to create a great wine in Napa Valley that would combine the heritage, discipline and refinement of Bordeaux with the extraordinary potential of California.
That vision became Opus One.
From the beginning, the estate was conceived around a singular philosophy — meticulous vineyard work, precision in the cellar, uncompromising selection and the belief that Napa Valley could produce wines with the elegance, structure and longevity of the world’s great classics.
Today, Opus One remains one of the most recognizable and collectible wines in Napa Valley, and each vintage represents a continuation of that original vision.

This special evening will bring together two compelling generations of Opus One: the celebrated 2013 vintage, already recognized by collectors as one of the standout Napa Valley vintages of its era, and the newly released 2023 vintage, offering a first look at the next chapter of this iconic estate.

OPUS ONE 2013 — A COLLECTOR’S VINTAGE
For serious collectors, 2013 needs little introduction.
It was one of the defining Napa Valley vintages of the decade, producing wines with remarkable concentration, structure, balance and longevity.
More than ten years later, Opus One 2013 offers the opportunity to experience what a great Napa vintage becomes with time: deeper integration, layered complexity, refined tannins and the unmistakable elegance that has made Opus One one of California’s most collectible wines.
This bottle provides the benchmark for the evening.

OPUS ONE 2023 — THE NEW GENERATION
Alongside the 2013, we will present the new Opus One 2023, the central focus of the masterclass.
This is an opportunity to experience the vintage at the very beginning of its evolution — to understand its structure, precision, freshness and aging potential directly alongside a mature benchmark vintage.
For anyone considering Opus One 2023 for the cellar, there is no better way to understand its potential than by tasting it next to what Opus One can become after a decade of development.
The comparison between 2013 and 2023 is what makes this evening truly exceptional: one wine with an established place among collectors, and one just beginning its journey.

OVERTURE 2023 & 2021
The experience will also include Overture 2023 and Overture 2021, giving guests another perspective on the vineyards and philosophy of the estate.
These two vintages will allow us to explore Overture’s more immediately expressive character while understanding how vintage variation influences the style of the wine.
Together, the four wines create a complete picture of the Opus One estate.

Each guest will receive a 2 oz pour of all four wines, accompanied by an individual mini charcuterie board.
