VNTRbirds HOT LAPS + HOT FLASHES PEDAL PARTY - 40+ GROUP RIDE + DISCUSSION
This group ride is open to all skill levels!
Join us for a community mountain bike ride and conversation designed specifically for women and femme riders ages 40+ who want to keep riding strong through every stage of life.

We'll kick things off with a social mountain bike ride from the Midland Trails trailhead before gathering for an open, supportive discussion about peri-, and post-menopause. This is a space to ask questions, share experiences (if you want to), learn from one another, and leave with practical tools for continuing to thrive as an outdoor athlete.

Whether you're curious about what's ahead, in the middle of the transition, or well beyond it, we hope you'll join us for a ride, meaningful conversation, and a welcoming community of riders who understand that every stage of life deserves time on two wheels.

This is not a skills clinic. It's an opportunity to connect with other riders navigating similar experiences, enjoy great trails, and have honest conversations about how our bodies change—and how we can continue doing what we love. Looking for a clinic - check out our calendar!
Location
Midland Trailhead
CR 304
Buena Vista, CO

Date & Time
Sunday, August 23rd
9:00am-12:30pm
Together, we'll explore topics including:
- What happens during peri-, post-menopause, and menopause—and what those stages actually mean

- Why your energy, recovery, strength, and riding can feel different as hormones change

- Lifestyle strategies that support healthy aging, including nutrition, strength training, pelvic floor health, and staying active on the bike

- An overview of hormone therapy and other treatment options, including current research, common misconceptions, and questions to ask your healthcare provider

- What's normal, what to expect, and practical ways to continue thriving as an outdoor athlete

Whether you're already experiencing these changes, just starting to notice them, or simply want to better understand what lies ahead, this is a welcoming, judgment-free space to share experiences, ask questions, and learn from one another. We'll also provide trusted resources so you can continue learning after the event.
MEET YOUR HOST

The discussion will be led by Pam Milavec, a BICP Level 2 Mountain Bike Coach, Buena Vista local, and experienced facilitator passionate about helping women navigate menopause while staying active outdoors.

After retiring from a career in environmental protection, Pam moved from Pennsylvania to Sedona, Arizona, where the area's technical trails inspired her to pursue mountain bike coaching. During the summers, Pam calls Buena Vista home, coaches with VNTRbirds, enjoys Colorado's high-alpine trails, and spends time with her two granddaughters.
