🎷 Motown Meets Blue Note: A Jazz Affair in Motown Style
The 4th Annual SJO / Tula’s Jazz Reunion
Sunday, August 24, 2025 | 3–7 PM | Tim’s Tavern, White Center, Seattle
Why Motown Meets Blue Note? What do Blue Note Records and Motown Records have in common?
In a word—Style.
Though they emerged from different genres—Blue Note from jazz, and Motown from soul and R&B—both labels were bold artistic forces that defined their sound, nurtured talent, and shaped American culture.
At this year’s SJO / Tula’s Jazz Reunion, we honor that shared spirit by blending the improvisational brilliance of Blue Note with the irresistible soul of Motown in one vibrant musical celebration.
About the Event:This is our 4th Annual Jazz Reunion, presented by Seattle Jazz Offering, and it pays tribute to the beautiful 15-year legacy (1999–2014) of Tula’s Jazz Club, where legends like Hadley Caliman shared the stage with many of Seattle’s finest jazz musicians.
