With recent rapid technology innovation and convergence including with AI, quantum computing, robotics and mobile, innovators are better able to develop and implement technology solutions to address local and regional challenges of each of the Sustainable Development Goals. To accelerate innovation towards the SDGs, the United Nations and member nations, in 2024, adopted the UN Pact for the Future; and to highlight the possibilities of quantum computing designated 2025 as the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology.
The Global Emerging Technology Demo and Showcase Chaired by the International Academy of CIO brings together innovators from many world regions in an person and online hybrid format to showcase their innovations and associated SDG impacts.
WHAT: Five to ten minute lightning presentations focusing on a technology innovation with AI, quantum, robotics and mobile that has contributed to addressing one of the
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); and associated one page summary paper.
Summary papers will be published in a post event publication.
WHO: Presentations from private sector, government, academia and NGOs and from U.S., Europe, Africa, Asia and South America.
PRESENTATION/PAPER FORMAT: Presentations and papers should include the following:
- Which SDG and problem description.
- What is the local problem context?
- What is the innovation and solution?
- What are alternatives / how was the problem previously addressed?
- Who benefited and what is the impact?
